Hiya readers, I hope each and everyone of you is well! I’ve just made a tea and am settling down into my writing after work. I wanted to share a brand with you that is new to the skincare game. With the launch of their first line of products, it may be one you’ve stumbled across.

FOLS is a brand that caters for men and is made by men too. A skincare and lifestyle brand that offers exclusive products for the gentlemen who wishes to target specific types of skin impurities. Currently, they have 3 main products in their collection, which you’ll find over at MALESKIN.
Lets take a look into what is already available for men to try out. I was able to get my hands on a set and I’m excited to share with you guys what I made of them. We have:
- DAILY FACE WASH – [Lime – 100ml]
- SKIN REPAIR GEL – [Lavender & Aloe – 100ml]
- FACIAL MOISTURISER – [Cedarwood & Neroli – 100ml]
I’ll will break it down into each individual item and give you the good/bad from my personal experience. Each bottle is 100ml in size which makes it super easy to travel with. Especially with restrictions on planes capped at 100ml per product. Most of them come with a handy pump applicator which saves effort on your behalf. They are no fuss, with ingredient list, directions on how to apply and key benefits listed alongside the bottle. Lets break them down a little more below. Introducing…

Starting off with the super easy to use facial wash by FOLS. An energising option for the morning with its zesty lime scent to help invigorate your senses. You’ll find this cream based wash, particularly fresh and will help to wake up your skin. Forming a quick creamy to foam lather, massage it across your face and down your neck to help eliminate any dirt and build up of oils in the skin. You’ll find it helps provide a polished feel afterwards. I certainly did and my skin was left feeling squeaky clean. Leaving me with a clean slate to work on top of. Some key things to consider are:
- Age-Aging due to Blackcurrant essential oil
- Anti-Acne due to Castile Soap in formula. This helps to battle and prevent breakouts
- Contains Allantoin – perfect for all types of skin, especially dry & combination. Other skin types will receive benefits from using this product too
- No irritating agents that will upset the skin
- Botanical, natural extracts and oils are used in the formula
- Against animal testing
- Handy pump action applicator
- Hydrates the skin
- Avocado oil
- Lime essential oil
This facial wash is a real treat with some great key factors to helping you with your skins health. Next up we have a skin repairing gel.

This calming gel is a great option to sooth and ease the skin into a relaxed state. The clear gel easily works with your skin to provide a barrier to protect your skin whilst healing it underneath. Sun damaged and dry skin will feel refreshment and calmer upon application. I used this gel not too long ago as I write this chapter on the blog. I was experiencing sore and irritated skin due to another product and a shower that was maybe a little too warm. It did help cool and soothe my skin afterward and release the tightness sensation my skin was experiencing. Since using this gel, I have noticed a slight build-up on the skin. Especially when I’ve put this product on overnight around my beard area and come morning, I find myself looking as if my skin is peeling a little. I’ve found this is the gel itself and it doesn’t cause me any concern, only something I noticed when using the product myself.
The scent has a medium to strong level of aroma, which is pleasant and calming to the mind. I have also noticed that my skin is soft to the touch and feels refreshed. This lightweight gel has a gelatinous bounce to it after application, but easily melts into the skin and doesn’t leave any sticky residue. It is great for use on the face and the body also. And would provide a great base to apply makeup on top of should you use cosmetics. Some key factors this lovely little gel has/does:
- Infused with Aloe to help skin healing and rejuvenating
- Gel format for easy absorption and no creamy residue
- Lavender extract to provide a calming aspect to the skin and mind
- Refreshing and perfect for a post-shave relief
- Suitable for people with sensitive and/or dry skin
- Suitable for those who suffer with Eczema
- Leaves skin feeling soft and soothed
- Vegan friendly
- Free from mineral oils
- High in natural minerals, anti-oxidants & vitamins
- Improves skin tone & texture
- Hydrates & nourishes
- Boosts cell renewal
- Fantastic option for sunburn sufferers
- No artificial colours, formaldehydes, parabens, artificial colours and petrochemicals
Seriously though probably a favourite from this collection from me personally. It has a lot of great benefits, but I would probably say its main flaw would be that is isn’t a pump action style bottle. I personally prefer a pump application with my skincare and beauty products as it helps me to control how much I am using in one sitting. For some though too, the scent I’ve mentioned is on the stronger side and can take getting used to if you prefer something less fragranced.
Out last product is up for review…

This lightweight moisturiser is the next step in this mini series. You’ll find its consistency is nor thin or thick, but somewhere in between. And it requires a little massaging into the skin. Once you have done that you are left without streaking, as it melts against the top layer of your face nicely. The facial and neck moisturiser is the perfect follow product after cleansing your face, to ensure you lock in hydration and protect the skin from the day ahead. It does have quite a fairly strong aroma to it, so bare that in mind if you aren’t too keen on slightly potent scents. The key benefits from this product are:
- Cruelty free
- Natural ingredients
- Post-shave irritated skin is targeted and soothed
- Hyaluronic acid an active ingredient provides anti-aging and high levels of moisture control.
- Blackcurrant oil helps to firm the skin
- Low comedogenic ingredients are safe for those with sensitive skin.
- Contains shea butter
- Contains coconut oil
- Contains olive oil
- Contains apricot kernel oil
- Formula enriched with vitamin E and silk liquid
- Contains neroli oil
- Contains lavender oil
- Skin is left feeling soft and hydrated
- Skin appears more youthful
- No sticky residue
- Moisturiser suitable for daily use
It is a lovely little moisturiser from FOLS. I personally sway more too gel based moisturisers as apposed to cream based ones. However I did see improvement to my skin in terms for hydration and softness after regular use. Needless to say, come the colder days and I don’t hesitate to use creamier moisturisers to provide deeper protection to my skin.
I think out of all 3 reviewed I would probably say my top favourite was the ‘Skin Repair Gel’. I found it to be the most active towards my skin. I did find the scent quite strong and the fact the bottle doesn’t come as a pump applicator, harder to use in terms of managing quantity of product per use. I think FOLS is a small brand that has big ideas. It is a brand worth watching to see how they grow. So far they have had good reviews by other consumers.
The company is set to become bigger and better and you will be able to find FOLS over at MALESKIN and all your other skincare and beauty needs. MALESKIN is one of my top places to get skincare and beauty items. Customer based and super efficient with any queries I have related the products. Every guy should have this website favourited in their bookmarks and should check regularly for any new brands added to their repertoire.
I also know that the company TOPPBOX (which is personalised men’s grooming subscription service) supplies this little brand inside their boxes. You can find out more information through the link to find out more about this subscription service. It is definitely worth a look into.
Well that is the end of this review my brilliant readers. Amazing! Thanks for joining me on the blog today and I hope this has shed some light into a very small brand that is aiming to take the men’s skincare game by storm. Keep up to date with them at FOLS.
Have yourself a fantastic rest of the day whatever you are getting up too.
