Good morning, I’m currently listening too Heartstrings.
Imagine Tori Amos presence and Joni Mitchell’s creative love, mix those iconic women with a contemporary ethereal flair, such as Lana Del Rey and you get: Heartstrings. The song of Autumn.
Leighton Meester is best known for her role as Blair, in the gripping and devious Gossip Girl. Not only was she Queen B in the programme, but through her love of country, (country films and country style music) has given Leighton another side to her Fierce Blair presence. We see her, as a different person through this style of genre. Someone who can relate to her on screen and lyrical presence. Humble characters & problems, compared to her high class, haute couture, caviare eating, rich living Blair persona, to which I can safely assume, we aren’t all accustomed too! (If you are, lets be best friends)
Listen to the link above as its worth to add to anyone’s autumn/fall playlist. Summer has ended and the time for bitter-sweet music to set the mood for the changing of the seasons. Leaves fall, you fall in love and song writing becomes deeper. A 1920’s style era piece, that leaves the listener in awe at the pictures created from the lyrics sung. Even though Heartstrings has a country aroma, this song reminds me of simple days in Paris. Exploring a new love, wondering through the streets, whilst delving into the gourmet cuisine alongside a cafe, that overlooks the Eiffel Tower. The smell of coffee and fresh pâtisserie that leaves you feeling humble and content inside.
It truly is a beautiful piece that will leave you hovering over the repeat button.
Let me know what you think!
