So the other day I went into town and headed to my local bookstore. I was there with my little brothers whilst they picked up some books with the gift cards they received for Christmas. I spotted the art section and saw some fashion books!
Vogue On – Coco Chanel
Coco Channel is one of my favourite designers, such an elegant lady and inspiration. This book talks about her life with some of her illustrations.
Her designs are handsome and graceful. Her illustrations have this atmospheric patience and you can see her influence to fashion in today’s society.
Alexander McQueen – Savage Collection
Alexander McQueen is one of a kind, he is a my God of fashion. Needless to say I’m a fan! There is something so aloof about his work. He was, as a contemporary designer/visionary one of the most unique. The subtle details his designs had and how each design was presented gave his work an edge. His book was a little pricey but this collection was my favourite and definitely worth the money! The big book in the trio, the little blue book will be listed below!
There is something so effortless in his work. The angles to and how it shows the female form.
I one day, hope to be half as talented as Alexander McQueen!
ABC Of Men’s Fashion
This book I didn’t buy but received from my younger brother as a Christmas gift! It lists the different parts of design for men’s clothing such as pockets and shirt collar’s. A helpful guide explaining the different terms for someone starting out in fashion such as myself.
So a little list of recent books I’ve gotten! Very nice indeed! I would definatley suggest any of these books if you are interested! I got my two books at Waterstones if you are in England! And the other book brother said was on Amazon! But have a search around!
Goodnight!
